Victim of the great power of Alex Poatán on two occasions, Jiri Prochazka opened the game and commented on what he feels for the Brazilian amidst the chaotic scenario between the two. Known for his samurai spirit and resilience, the Czech dismissed any feelings of rivalry against the current champion and recognized the talent presented by the São Paulo native.
“With his style and what he is capable of doing, having beaten me twice and both times I was unsuccessful. So for me, it is, I don't have any negative feelings at all. This just shows me that I have strayed a little from my path to mastery. Which simply makes sense to me.”, declared Jiri on his channel YouTube.

As he continued his speech, Prochazka highlighted the positive side of the defeats suffered and stated that now is the time to mature and improve as a fighter and as a human.
“On my path, it’s just about immersing yourself in the work and dedicating yourself to it. To find the source and that strength. With this strength, as always, going into the fight. Full. No makeup or dressing things up. I'll be completely honest, I see this as my own transformation. It's truly a time of maturity, relationships, friends, family, business and the first and last fight. Training and improving”, he concluded.

Protagonists of UFC 303, Poatan and Prochazka had a rematch and the result was a frightening knockout in favor of the Brazilian in the second round. Former champion of the category, the Czech has not been able to rescue the title in the opportunities he has had so far.
