In 2019, he won the welterweight belt (up to 77 kg.) by winning Tyron woodley by unanimous decision at UFC 235. The Nigerian defended his title five times and scored 15 consecutive victories in Ultimate, a mark only inferior to Anderson Silva, who is 16.
