Sean O'Malley has been capturing the public's attention since his appearance against Alfred Khashakyan in the first season of 'Contender Series', and after winning the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg), he has become one of the most popular figures in the sport, losing in this regard only to big names, such as Conor McGregor. However, for the American, that may be about to change.

On the 'media day' of UFC 306, which takes place this Saturday (14), O'Malley stated that he could soon become the organization's biggest star.

“I think Conor still has one more big fight, but the big question is whether he can come back and win. Michael chandler. If he loses the next fight, will it be six in a row or something? (The popularity) has to wane eventually, maybe not. That's a big testament to how big of a star he is. If he loses, I'm there. I'm the guy. I'm number one," he said.

Sean O' Malley defends the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg.) against Merab Dvalishvili this Saturday (14), as the main fight of the UFC 306, the first in the organization's history to be held at the Sphere. Close to turning 30, 'Suga' has only one defeat in his entire career, avenged in his last performance, against Marlon Vera. Already Conor McGregor is far from the octagons since July 2021, when his left leg was fractured in a fight against Dustin Poirer.
