Former UFC featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg), Alexander Volkanovsky continues to move the category. On his YouTube channel, the Australian analyzed the fight between Brian ortega e Diego lopes No. UFC 306, an event held last Saturday (14) and, in addition to praising the Brazilian performance, launched a bold proposal: a fight for an interim belt.
"Diego lopes is flying high right now. I think he'll be in the top three in the division. With the uncertainty about the future of Max Holloway e Ilia Topuria, maybe a fight for an interim belt against someone like Lopes would be a good option,” said Volkanovski.

Volkanovski's idea gains strength in light of his desire to remain active in the octagon. After recent knockout losses, the Australian seeks to regain the belt and sees in Diego lopes the current scenario for his career turnaround in the UFC.
“Obviously my next fight is for the title, depending on what happens. If there are injuries in the Max (Holloway) vs. Ilia (Topuria) fight, who knows what will happen. There could be an interim title fight with someone like Diego lopes“You never know, so let’s see what happens,” Volkanovski said.
Diego lopes, 29 years old, should jump from 12th to third place in the ranking and is close to the belt. In his career, he has 26 positive results and six negative ones.
