Dana White opens doors for Diego Lopes as reserve for Topuria-Holloway title fight

Last Saturday (14), Diego lopes extended his winning streak to dominate Brian Ortega and achieve the most important victory of his career, which propelled him into the top 3 of the featherweight category (up to 65,7 kg). Now, the Brazilian's goal is to fight for the division's belt. If it's up to Dana White, Diego's path won't be made difficult.

In a press conference held after the UFC 306, still in the 'Sphere', Dana White did not rule out meeting the request for Diego lopes and put the Brazilian as a reserve fighter for the belt dispute between Ilia Topuria e Max Holloway, scheduled for October 26nd, in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.

“We would do anything for that guy, even if he yelled at me. I really like him, so yes, he could be (the reserve for the title fight),” the UFC president responded.

The screams that Dana White refers to happened after the confirmation of the victory of Diego lopes, when the Brazilian, as usual, climbed onto the octagon fence to speak to the 'boss'. Dana claims to have met a different version of Diego that night.

“Normally he’s very nice, but tonight he was yelling at me. ‘Give me the title shot, I’m going to fight for the title now.’ He was very angry. It wasn’t the Diego lopes nice as usual. He was yelling at me. He was on fire tonight,” he pointed out.
