Amidst the domain of Merab Dvalishvili about Sean O'Malley in the title fight UFC 306, last Saturday (14), a scene caught the attention of everyone who was watching. In the final stretch of the second round, the Georgian was dominating the American on the ground when he decided to give a series of kisses on his rival's back. After the curious display of affection, Merab ended up turning his back on O'Malley and was struck before the bell sounded to end the round.
In a press conference held after winning the belt, Merab Dvalishvili commented on what happened and said that it was all just a demonstration of dominance in which he ended up getting distracted.

“I grabbed his neck with ten seconds left. I knew he could wait and that he wouldn’t pass out or tap out. I just wanted to have fun with him. I don’t hate the guy, but I wanted to tease him and give him some kisses to show him that I was dominant. I was in control of the fight, I was breaking him. That’s why I gave him the kisses. But I ended up having too much fun and lost track of time. When I let go, he followed me, threw a few punches to my head from behind and I went back to protecting myself,” explained the new champion.
Before Merab Dvalishvili, Dana White had also commented on the new champion's kisses on Sean O'Malley.
“I have no idea. Merab does some s***. It was weird, but not shocking,” the president said.
