A winning the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg.) of the Ultimate has already started to bear fruit for Merab Dvalishvili. At a government meeting this Sunday (15), the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, praised the fighter's performance in the victory against Sean O' Malley in UFC 306, and announced the decision to honor the athlete with the country's highest state honor.

Besides Merab, Ilia Topuria is also one of the champions born in Georgia. The fighter won the featherweight title (up to 65,7 kg) by knocking out Alexander Volkanovsky in February this year.
