After spending the last few years waiting in vain for the return of Conor McGregor, Michael chandler is ready to show your new version to an old acquaintance: Charles of the Bronx. The two face off in a rematch in the co-main event of the UFC 309, on November 16th.
During a recent appearance on the Bussin' With The Boys podcast, Michael chandler explained the differences between his version in the first fight against Charles of the Bronx, when he was knocked out by the Brazilian in a dispute for the vacant lightweight belt (up to 70,3 kg), in 2021, and the current one, about to face his executioner for the second time.

“The process of maturing who I am as an individual and a fighter. For better or worse, I needed to get to the UFC and prove myself. Now I have. Chandler 1.0 had to get to the UFC, prove wrong anyone who doubted that this guy from Bellator could get there and compete with the best in the world, and I obviously did that.”
“Win, lose or draw, it’s always a great fight. Win, lose or draw, I’ve hurt everyone I’ve faced. Win, lose or draw, I get ‘Fight of the Night.’ Win, lose or draw, you’re on the edge of your seat when Chandler steps into the Octagon, right? And now Chandler 2.0 is doing well. I had an opportunity to take a step back, fall back in love with the sport and now I believe more than ever that it’s time to win the belt and fighting Oliveira puts me in that position,” he explained.
With Charles of the Bronx e Michael chandler in the co-main fight, the UFC 309 takes place on November 16th at Madison Square Garden in New York. In the main fight of the event, Jon Jones defends the heavyweight belt (up to 120,2 kg) against the former champion Stipe Miocic.
