Defeated at UFC 306, Sean O'Malley announces he will undergo hip surgery; Dana White reacts

After announcing a career hiatus, Sean O' Malley has stated that he will undergo hip surgery in early October. The American suffered a hip injury labrum left hip during preparation for combat against Merab Dvalishvili No. UFC 306, occurred in the Sphere, in Las Vegas.

“I have surgery on October 3rd. That’s the only reason I’m going to be out for so long. That surgery should take two months to come back from, then another couple of months of recovery, so a year is a long time. It could be six to eight months (out). But you never know… The UFC is not going to be the same without me,” said the fighter.
