Boxing promises to be one of the main attractions of COB Expo, a traditional sports fair held by the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB), which will take place at Pro Magno, in the North Zone of São Paulo, between September 25 and 29. Among the boxers already confirmed will be Bárbara Santos (welterweight up to 66kg), Abner Teixeira (super-heavyweight over 92kg) and Wanderley Pereira (light-heavyweight up to 80kg), all present at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Other names that were part of Team Brazil may also appear. To interact with visitors, CBBoxe is preparing an open training session for the public next Wednesday (25), from 10 am to 15 pm. In addition to the training, the athletes will also be available for a chat with the fair's public.

Between the 27th and 29th, for example, boxing fans will have the opportunity to closely follow an official competition organized by the Brazilian Boxing Confederation (CBBoxe). Named 'Desafio Recoma de Boxe', the championship will have, in total, 70 participants, including boxers from the most diverse categories and coaches, in addition to 14 referees who will come from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina and Espírito Santo.
In order to welcome Brazilian boxers, an official Taishan Sports boxing ring will be set up by Recoma, the leading sports infrastructure company in Latin America.
“The ring offers safety to athletes, with a sturdy structure and high-quality materials. The robust structure ensures safety during fights and training. Another advantage is that it provides a stable platform, preventing oscillations that could harm the athletes’ performance. The ring is made to last and withstand constant use and various weather conditions. Its modern and elegant look enhances any event, creating a professional and impressive environment”, highlights Sergio Schildt, president of Recoma.
The ring also has several accessories that guarantee safety and practicality, such as safety ropes, corners, platforms, seats and stairs, in addition to being approved by the WB (World Boxing).
Next Wednesday, the 25th, from 19pm to 20pm, the venue is also scheduled to host a boxing clinic, as well as a chat with Fernando Menoncello “Bolacha”, president of the São Paulo State Boxing Federation and creator of the project “From the Streets to the Rings”.
