With just under two weeks left until the UFC 307, Alex Poatán will receive a heavyweight reinforcement from an old rival for the final stretch of preparation for the defense of the light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg) against Khalil rountree Jr, in the main fight of the event on October 5th. The Brazilian announced, in a video published on his official YouTube channel, that he will have the assistance of the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) Sean Strickland in the last training sessions before the event.

“We have a good team, Glover, Plinio, Yousri (Belgaroui), Cesinha (Almeida) and Sean Strickland will be with us next week. The whole team is here happy and excited about all this preparation. For me it was great to have done this and come here three weeks early”, declared Poatan.

Victim of Alex Poatán in 2022, Sean Strickland became a friend and a constant presence in the Brazilian's training sessions. The two have trained together on at least two occasions over the last few years.

With Strickland's help, Alex Poatán prepares to enter the action in the main fight of UFC 307, on October 5, at the altitude of Salt Lake City, in the United States. The Brazilian seeks the third defense of the light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg) when he faces Khalil rountree Jr, currently ranked eighth in the category.
