When Dana White was asked about his 'Mount Rushmore' of the UFC, that is, the four most important athletes in the history of the organization, many fans and members of the media were shocked by the bald man's response. At the time, the CEO of the Ultimate excluded names of the caliber of Anderson Silva e Amanda nunes, which generated a series of discussions around the world.

In light of this, the discussion gained another layer this Wednesday (25). In an interview with the betting house Stake, official sponsor of the UFC and SUPER FIGHTS, Max Holloway gave his opinion on the matter.

“I look at the way these fighters conducted themselves inside and outside the Octagon, how they were ambassadors for the sport and the company as well. I would say Demetrious (Johnson) is definitely up there, Anderson Silva also, the GSP and there you have to look at Forrest griffin, because he helped put the UFC on the map. That TUF finale was huge for the UFC, so those are my guys for sure,” said the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg).

The fighter, who will try to regain the category title in UFC 308 against Ilia Topuria, preached respect for the chosen ones, even confessing his dream of having faced Georges St-Pierre.

“I wish I had fought during GSP’s time, I would have loved to have shared the octagon with him. He is one of the greats, just like Anderson Silva – he was a beast”, he concluded.

Monte Rushmore

Opened in 1941, Mount Rushmore is a monument located in the city of Keystone, South Dakota (USA) that honors four presidents in the history of the United States. The faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln are carved into the mountains, representing the first 150 years of the nation. Because of this, it is common in North American culture for people to establish their 'own' Mount Rushmores in different areas.
