After the publication, the American website MMA Fighting contacted Oren Hodak, Moicano's manager. He confirmed that the Brazilian suffered the injury four weeks before the UFC Paris.
“I was honestly surprised when he told me the initial decision was to stay in the fight,” Hodak said. “Luckily, his team trained smart and they made it to the fight.”
Moicano puts on a great fight, even with the injury
Despite the shoulder injury, Renato Moicano had one of his best performances in over 10 years in the UFC. The Brazilian managed to knock out Benoit Saint-Denis still in the first round and punished the Frenchman until opening deep cuts on his rival's face. In the second round he exchanged blows until the fight stood up until the doctor interrupted the fight due to the Frenchman's injuries.
