Israel adesanya seems to have put an end to one of the most intense chapters of his career. On his YouTube channel, the Nigerian stated that his rivalry with Alex Poatán is coming to an end. The statement came after the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) bet on the Brazilian's victory in his next fight, against Khalil rountree, at UFC 307 next Saturday (5).

“If Khalil wins, it’ll be like, ‘Well, someone else did that,’ and then they can stop bugging me. They’ll deal with it now, they’ll have that story. My story with Alex is over,” Adesanya said.

The last fight between the two took place in UFC 287, when the Nigerian regained the middleweight belt with a knockout in the second round.
