In a division full of Brazilian athletes, facing a compatriot is nothing new for the sixth-placed athlete. In her last four matches, she had three Brazilian opponents, being defeated by Jessica 'Bate-Estaca', Virna jandiroba e Amanda lemos.

“She hasn’t faced any major adversity within the organization. So, I’m going to use a lot of my experience, from all the great athletes I’ve faced. And my fight strategy is going to be to go out with punches. There’s not much detail here, detail there. I know I’m ready to face anything in any area. I’m feeling really good, really strong to do what I want to do in this fight, which is to come in with a lot of aggression and hurt my opponent as much as possible,” she said.

Altitude

One of the most remembered aspects about the UFC 307 is the altitude. Held in the city of Salt Lake City, Utah (USA), the athletes will face each other in an arena 1.300 meters above sea level. Despite the already known effects of the condition, the fighter said she had no symptoms.

“I didn’t feel much of a difference. I just felt tired from the trip. We’ve been here since last Thursday, so we’re preparing really well for that, but I didn’t feel much of the altitude. I’m training well, feeling strong and ready,” the fighter said.

Future in the division

With the exception of champion Zhang Weili and Tatiana Suarez placeholder image, the Brazilian has already faced all the fighters in the Top 5. Although she was defeated by Jandiroba and 'Bate-Estaca', she has already beaten the Chinese yan xiaonan, second place. With another triumph this Saturday (5), Rodriguez hopes to send a message to the rest of the category.

“I need to show who I really am. Show that I am, yes, one of the top fighters in the division. I need to win in a very convincing way to show that I deserve to get closer to this title. The search for the belt is relentless, so we are going to focus on this Saturday, win in a very expressive way and then be able to have an active voice again to ask for someone from the top of the ranking”, she concluded.
