As a result, Joaquin buckley reaches his 14th knockout victory in his MMA career. He should advance positions, getting close to the top 5 of the division led by Belal Muhammad | and with that, he also called Kamaru Usman for a fight.

Joaquin Buckley becomes second fighter to knock out Stephen Thompson in UFC
From the very first moment, it was possible to see the wide arsenal of blows Stephen Thompson. With spinning kicks, 'in and out' and an intense game in the exchange, the 'Wonderboy' scored, while Joaquin buckley pressed for a good moment at close range. And it was precisely after the fight became fierce that the 'Knockout Man' changed his characteristic to take the fight to the ground.
The high level continued. Buckley even wanted to engage in grappling, but Thompson pulled out. With a recognized karate background, Stephen sought more 'in fight' and adopted technique, while Joaquin relied on brute force. And, just like the first round, the second also ended with a tight margin.
The feeling that everything was balanced also seemed to affect the fighters – and even the corners –, who gave instructions for their trainers to go and define, if the opportunity arose. Buckley worked combinations of jabs and straights, while Thompson responded well to the blows. He responded until the clean blow landed. With a right bomb, Joaquin took 'Wonderboy' to the canvas and was only the second fighter to achieve such a feat.
