At some point the body takes its toll. The lack of rest between fights may have contributed to the sequence of injuries, illnesses and mental difficulties, admitted Poatan, who plans a period of 'slowing down' to recover his energy.

“I think there is a limit. I want to try as hard as I can, but I need to take a break. I have some commitments in Mexico, in Korea and then I want to go to Bali, take a break, stay there for a week, ten days, calmly,” he said.

A victory at UFC 307 against Rountree crowned a victorious season for Poatan, who feels grateful for the good phase.
