After the defeat of Israel adesanya all with Dricus du Plessis No. UFC 305, in August, there was a lot of speculation about how and when the Nigerian would return. UFC commentator Jon Anik suggested that Khamzat Shimaev could be the ideal opponent.
In a recent interview with 'The Schmo', Anik gave his opinion on the return of the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg), believing that 'The Wolf' would be an opponent with great appeal for Adesanya.

“I think [Adesanya] is going to wait a little bit and let the middleweight waters settle. Whittaker has some issues to work out with Khamzat Shimaev, but I think if you're Izzy, you're going to want to stay on the sidelines a little bit. Maybe it's Khamzat, that's a fight that would have appeal, but Khamzat could be in a title fight scenario," the commentator said.
Chimaev with fight scheduled
Although Jon Anik suggested Khamzat for the new phase Israel adesanya, the Chechen has more pressing commitments. Chimaev is scheduled to face Robert whittaker No. UFC 308, which takes place in Abu Dhabi (UAE) on October 26. This fight should have taken place in UFC Saudi Arabia, but the 'Wolf' had health complications and was replaced by Ikram Aliskerov.
