even though Khalil rountree being number 8 in the light heavyweight ranking (up to 93kg), Alex Poatán had a difficult mission during the belt defense last Saturday (5) at UFC 307, in Salt Lake City, USA. Poatan admitted that he felt the blow and commented on the fact that fans were not used to seeing him in situations like this.

I think it was something spinning there, I was kind of on my back or side, I don’t remember. So I felt it. This has happened a lot in kickboxing. They’re used to seeing me hitting, hitting and coming away with a clean face. So when I feel a blow, people are shocked. But this is common, it’s part of the fight, but people aren’t used to seeing this happening to me, and when they do, everyone is scared of me,” explained the champion during a press conference after the fight. The battle between the two elite strikers earned much praise from Dana White. The UFC president praised Rountree's posture and courage and even stated that Poatan is already above de Anderson Silva.
