Magomed Ankalayev continues to stir up the MMA scene. The Russian, who has established himself as one of the main names in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg), has intensified his provocations Alex Poatán and now he is aiming for an even more ambitious confrontation: a title fight against Jon Jones.
In a recent post on social media, Ankalaev proclaimed himself the best striker in the category and challenged Jones if Stipe Miocic, the champion's original opponent, is forced to withdraw from the UFC 309. The Russian also cited Chael Sonnen, known for his controversial statements, to reinforce his confidence.

"Chael Sonnen, you're right. I'm the best striker in the light heavyweight division. If the opponent Jon Jones If he gets hurt, I will fight him too (Jon Jones) and I will overcome him,” Ankalaev wrote.
Tough road for Ankalaev in UFC
Before dreaming of the light heavyweight or even heavyweight belt, Ankalaev needs to overcome a major challenge: Aleksandar rakic. The winner of this clash, scheduled for the UFC 308, must face Poatan in a dispute for the title up to 93kg.
