Conor McGregor did not spare praise for the challenger for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg), Khalil rountree, after his defeat for Alex Poatán No. UFC 307 last Saturday (5). In a series of messages sent to the fighter, the Irishman highlighted a crucial error made by the American during the fight.
Rountree, who surprised many by managing to compete on equal terms with the current champion in the early rounds, revealed in an interview with the 'Pound 4 Pound' podcast that McGregor advised him that he could have been more aggressive and pressured Poatan against the fence.

“He told me I could have applied more pressure. When Pereira was against the fence, he has that left hook, but if I had been a little more relentless with my pressure and not backed off so much, I think I would have been able to do a little more damage to him,” said the challenger.
Khalil Rountree vs Alex Poatan
Khalil came out on top despite the defeat. The American was applauded by the crowd for his first chance at the belt. With the defeat, he now has 13 wins and six losses.
Poatan, in turn, adds the fifth consecutive victory of his career. Now, there are 12 positive results and two negative ones. As champion, he has also won Jiri Prochazka e Jamahal hill by the top of the division.
