Main attraction of the 5th edition of Fight Music Show, which takes place this Saturday (12) at Ginásio da Portuguesa, in São Paulo, Acelino Popó Freitas is focused on his new challenge. This Thursday (10), the Brazilian four-time world boxing champion held an open training session at Shopping D, in Canindé, São Paulo. He will face Argentine Jorge 'El Chino' Miranda, who became famous after being hit by a chair by Popó in press conference of the event, In September.
Popó trained alongside his son Iago Freitas, who is making his debut at the event. The duo did a quick warm-up and practiced some moves together. At the end, father and son did a sequence with the mitts. (check below)

Even though he is the favorite in the fight, Popó doesn't want to leave any room for bad luck. That's why he has worked with respect and the love he always feels for the noble art.

“I have always dedicated myself a lot, I have prepared myself a lot, regardless of the athlete. I have always prepared myself professionally. I spent a month in Belém preparing and I have been in São Paulo for 15 days now. (…) FMS It's not a professional boxing match, it's entertainment. It's a normal guy who has some beef and we throw it into the world of fighting. (…) Making money is good, it's my face that's there. Raising the profile of boxing is even better. It's the sport that changed my life. It's not the money that comes first, it's the love. When you do it with love, you conquer everything — said the four-time champion.
Popó also studied El Chino's movements. The Argentine has 82 fights in his career and is known for 'catimba'.
“I studied, I looked closely at videos of his fights and training to understand how he behaves in the ring. I have been boxing for 33 years, I know more or less what I have to do. When he makes a move, I already know what to expect. If he puts one hand in, I already know what to do with the other. It’s all memorized, there’s no way to take it away,” he explained.

Despite never having faced each other, Popó and El Chino starred in an unforgettable scene that heated up the backstage of the fight. During a press conference in September, in a face-off with Popó, the Argentine took a Brazilian national team shirt out of his pocket and ripped it in front of him. The Brazilian responded by throwing a chair at him, which was defended by his opponent. The object practically 'disintegrated'. (see video below)
El Chino did not hide the pain in his arm after the Brazilian's reaction. “Yes, my arm hurts a little. It was a surprise, but the people from the production team who were my security guard helped me. My arm hurt a little, but I'm fine, thank God. There's time to recover,” he said.
