Popó gets scared, but defeats 'El Chino'
The first round was marked by caution from both fighters, with Popó landing some precise blows. In the second round, a slip by the Brazilian, caused by Miranda, increased the tension in the fight. The athletes exchanged intense blows, but the pace of the duel slowed considerably.
In the following rounds, exhaustion became evident, with both fighters missing more blows. Miranda lost a point for grabbing Popó's arm, which weighed heavily on the final decision. In the fifth and final round, Popó picked up the pace and managed to dominate his opponent, securing the victory.
Challenge to Pablo Marçal
The highlight of the night, however, was the challenge that Popó issued to politician Pablo Marçal. At the end of the fight, the former world champion used the microphone to call on the former candidate for Mayor of São Paulo to fight in the ring.
“Pablo Marçal, if you are a man to conclude what you said and to take responsibility for your words, get up here in the ring and speak to this pulpit where all of Brazil is watching,” challenged Popó, in a defiant tone.
