Julia Polastri has a close fight and wins by split decision
In the first round, Polastri started with an aggressive strategy, landing a good knee to her opponent's body. McKenna responded quickly, taking the fight to the fence and starting an intense dispute in the clinch.
During this exchange, Julia showed her difference in Muay Thai, connecting strong knees and a precise elbow. In the last seconds of the round, the Brazilian maintained control of the center of the octagon and returned to pressure, landing blows in the clinch.
In the second round, the fight remained even. Polastri continued to press in the exchanges, but McKenna tried to get a takedown, taking the fight back to the cage, although without much effectiveness on either side. Halfway through the round, it was Julia's turn to try to take her opponent down. Despite McKenna's defense, Polastri managed to control her back in the clinch, demonstrating good control. In the final minute, the Brazilian still controlled the center of the octagon, while McKenna seemed visibly more tired.
The third round brought Polastri determined to keep the pace high. The Brazilian kept moving forward and connected with a powerful cross, rocking McKenna, who tried to get a takedown in response. In the final moments, the Welshwoman managed to take Julia down, exerting control over the Brazilian, while Polastri threw elbows from below and remained active until the end of the fight. At the end of the fight, the Brazilian had her arm raised by a 29x28 and a 30x27 decision by the judges.
