At the opening of the card Fight Music Show 5, held at the Portuguesa Gymnasium, in São Paulo, Iago Freitas, son of the four-time world champion Acelino Popo, defeated Paulo Roberto by technical knockout in the first round. The fight marked another important step in the career of the 27-year-old boxer, who now has three wins in the sport.
With Popó in his corner, Iago showed calm and ignored the pressure of being the heir to one of the greatest names in Brazilian boxing. Determined, the young fighter was not intimidated and followed the fight plan, achieving the result in a convincing manner.
The victory came in the first round
Iago started aggressively and soon knocked down Paulo Roberto. The two athletes exchanged jabs in a fierce battle for the center of the ring.
However, in the final minute, Iago landed a series of blows, knocking his opponent down again and forcing the referee to stop the fight with just a few seconds left in the first round.
