Away from the octagon for more than three years, Conor McGregor recently declared having a verbal agreement with Dan Hooker for a fight at a UFC event in Saudi Arabia in February 2025, information that was confirmed by the New Zealander. Ultimate President Dana White seems to like the idea.
In a press conference held after the last episode of the 'Contender Series' season, last Tuesday (15), Dana spoke about the subject, praised the possible confrontation, but assured that she had not spoken to any of the parties involved.

“Obviously it would be a great fight. I like that fight. But I haven’t announced anything or spoken to either of them about it,” said the president.
Conor McGregor has not stepped into the octagon since July 2021, when he suffered a serious leg injury in a trilogy defeat against Dustin poirier. Since then, the Irishman has recovered from his injury, returned to the anti-doping testing program and is scheduled to return in June against Michael chandler, but suffered a new injury, this time to his toe, and postponed his return once again.
With the confirmation of the duel between Michael chandler e Charles of the Bronx protocols for UFC 309, in November, Conor McGregor was left without an opponent and sees in Dan Hooker, fifth in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3 kg) a good opportunity to return to action.
