After provocations from both sides, Ian Machado Garry e Colby covington created one of the most genuine rivalries in recent times. However, despite showing himself willing to resolve their differences inside the octagon, the Irishman accuses the American of minimizing the chances of the fight happening.
In a video posted on Instagram, Ian Gary revealed that he accepted an offer to face his rival a month ago. However, he has not yet received a response from Covington.

Garry vs. Covington Rivalry
The rivalry between Colby covington e Ian Machado Garry began when social media profiles began attacking Garry's wife, suggesting that she married him out of opportunism. Covington took the opportunity to tease the couple and nickname the fighter 'cuck', a term that means 'cuck' in Portuguese.
The Irishman campaigned to face Colby, who, in March 2024, showed himself open to accepting the challenge, but made three demands and gave a 24-hour deadline for a response. Garry took a stand, questioning Covington's quality as a fighter and demanding respect. However, Ian also proposed a challenge to the American: the loser would have to retire from MMA.
Covington and Garry were scheduled to perform at the same event in December 2023, but Garry withdrew from the UFC 296 because of the flu, while Colby was defeated by Leon edwards.
