More than five years after debuting in the Ultimate, Michael Pereira does, in the UFC Las Vegas 99, this Saturday (19), his first main fight in the organization. Despite guaranteeing that he is prepared to fight for five rounds for the first time since September 2018, when he was still playing for the Korean event Heat, the 'Flying Paraense' does not believe that the fight will last that long.
In a press conference held during the event's 'media day', last Wednesday (16), Michel guaranteed that he was trained to do five rounds, but said he believed the fight would end before that.

“I’m very prepared. I trained hard for five rounds, but I don’t think the fight will last five rounds. Let’s wait and see what happens, but I don’t think it will last five rounds,” said the Brazilian.
Another point addressed in the interview was the fact that Michael Pereira arrive for the duel against anthony hernandez as a slight underdog in the bookmakers. Regarding this, the Brazilian assured that he did not care and recognized the merit of his opponent.
“I don’t care much about that because I think he’s coming off four or five consecutive wins in the division and I had to start from the beginning in this category, so I understand people who think that. It’s all his merit and I respect that. Little by little I’m conquering my space in this new category,” he concluded.
