Gegard Mousasi has started a legal battle against the Bellator and PFL organizations and is seeking millions in compensation after being released. In an 81-page lawsuit, the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) accuses the companies of breach of contract, anti-competitive practices and other irregularities. The details were raised by 'MMA Fighting'.
The controversy began after the PFL acquired Bellator. Mousasi, who had a contract considered advantageous with the former organization, claims to have been frozen out by the new owners, who pressured him to terminate the contract. The Iranian fighter claims that, after the merger, he received no new fight offers and was prevented from competing.
