Alex Poatán remains one of the hottest names in the UFC today. After yet another belt defense with knockout before Khalil rountree, the Brazilian has established himself as one of the greatest names in the history of light heavyweights (up to 93kg). And, with the future uncertain, the possibility of a duel against Magomed Ankalayev becomes more and more real.

In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', Rountree, who has already experienced the power of Alex's blows, analyzed a possible confrontation between the Brazilian and the Russian.

“I don’t think Ankalaev is completely raw in grappling. He’s very good at what he does. But Pereira is prepared to deal with that pressure and has the ability to finish the fight,” said the American.

The former light heavyweight title challenger praised the evolution of Poatan and his team, in addition to highlighting the intense preparation to face opponents with Ankalaev's profile.

The expectation for a duel between the two fighters is huge. For the fight to happen, however, the Russian needs to overcome Aleksandar rakic No. UFC 308, which takes place on October 26. If he wins, he has a privileged position to challenge the current champion for the belt.
