Known for unpredictable strikes and acrobatic movements, Michael Pereira, the 'Flying Paraense', returns to the octagon this Saturday (19) to face anthony hernandez in the main fight of ufc vegas 99. The Brazilian spoke about the origin of his unique style and recalled the beginning of his career in MMA.
In a chat with Gilbert 'Durinho' on YouTube, Michel revealed that his irreverent style began to form while he was still at his uncle's gym, when, together with his cousin, he organized clandestine events where 'street fighters' participated. Comfortable in considering himself superior to his opponents, the fighter could test his skills and develop his identity in the sport.

“My view is that my style was created there, in those gym fights, because I really liked it. Anderson Silva and there I fought with street fighters. So I could make fun and do the things I wanted, because I was standing out. I trained more and did martial arts. And then I think my style came from there and I just kept intensifying”, said the 'Daredevil'.
In addition to his fighting style, his experience in gym fights gave Michel his official debut in MMA. According to him, the chance to fight in an organized event came about in an unusual way, when a neighbor saw potential in the excitement that the fights were generating in the region.
“The guy in front of the gym had a radio. One day he went to his house and there was no way to get in, the street was full of cars. Then the guy, a visionary, thought: 'I'm going to do an MMA event'. So he invested, put me in the main fight and that's where I started”, said Michel.

With an eight-game winning streak in the UFC, Michael Pereira has his most important fight in the organization ahead of him.
The Brazilian faces anthony hernandez, number thirteen in the ranking, who is in good form with five consecutive victories. The fight takes place at UFC Las Vegas 99, scheduled for Saturday (19), at Apex.
