The first main fight of Michael Pereira in the UFC was not good at all for the Brazilian, who was no match for the pace of anthony hernandez and ended up dominated and knocked out by the American. One day after the tough defeat, the 'Flying Paraense' spoke out on social media about the fight.
In a post on 'Instagram', Michael Pereira thanked the fans for their support, recognized the merit of anthony hernandez in the duel and promised to return to training, correct mistakes and come back stronger next time.

“Hey, babies! First of all, I want to thank you all for your support. This week I saw how amazing my fans are. You guys are incredible. We’ve been undefeated for four years, with eight consecutive wins and several performance bonuses, but unfortunately the win didn’t come yesterday. Full credit to our opponent who was superior last night. Now it’s time to recover, review our entire camp, identify areas for improvement and move forward. The defeat is bitter, but it brings with it incredible lessons. We’ll come back stronger,” he wrote.
The last defeat of Michael Pereira in the UFC had occurred in February 2020, in the disqualification for illegal knee against Diego Sanchez. Since then, the Brazilian has won eight straight matches, the last three in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg), securing 14th place in the category ranking.
