Amanda ribas confirmed the maxim of the phrase 'don't poke a bear with a short stick'. The MMA athlete in the UFC strawweight (up to 52,1kg) and flyweight (up to 56,7kg) categories made a victim who weighs more than twice her, but outside the octagon. She left former bodybuilder and now trainer Julio Balestrin with a black eye during a 'joke' between them.
O SUPER FIGHTS went to check out this story. It all started when the fighter from Minas Gerais received an invitation to train bodybuilding at the Balestrin gym, located in São Paulo. Amanda says that Julio soon put her to practice bodybuilding training. But worse than the amount of weight lifted, were the provocations made by the veteran.
“I went to train with Julio at his gym and he immediately started to get me to do a bodybuilding workout. He kept messing with me, really provoking me! I had to take a deep breath to keep from getting angry!” says Amanda.

After suffering through the training and provocations of the former bodybuilder, it was Amanda's turn to 'get even' by giving him MMA training. Everything was going more or less well, until Julio decided to challenge the athlete to a fight. The result was Balestrin (113 kg.) leaving the 'confrontation' with a black eye. (see below)

“Then when he came to my area, on the mat… it was different! He said he had trained a few times and I gave him some basic training, including rolling. In the end he wanted to fight me. I’m not sure when he got the black eye, but when he fell he landed face down on the ground. But the ‘beast’ is strong!” Amanda concluded.
The eye injury surprised the former bodybuilder, who was impressed with the result after facing the UFC fighter.

Amanda Ribas' next challenge
Amanda ribas He continues his training routine in the city where he lives, Varginha, in the South of Minas Gerais, for his next challenge in the UFC at the end of the year.
For the straw category (up to 52,1 kg), Amanda ribas face again Mackenzie dern No. UFC Tampa, in Florida, on December 14. In the first confrontation between the two, in 2019, the Brazilian won by unanimous decision of the judges. Amanda is currently ranked 7th in the strawweight and 10th in the flyweight.

Two-time Arnold Classic Overall Champion, the former bodybuilder has been standing out as a trainer and also as a producer of bodybuilding content, alongside fitness influencer Renato Cariani.
