Difficulties in the first fights

Dos Anjos made his UFC debut in November 2008, at the organization's 91st edition. At the time, the Brazilian suffered a knockout loss to Jeremy Stephens. Rafael then faced Tyson Griffin and lost by unanimous decision in a close fight that earned him the 'Fight of the Night' bonus.
