Record-breaking fight holder Rafael dos Anjos prepares for UFC 308: remember the greatest moments of his career

Difficulties in the first fights

Dos Anjos made his UFC debut in November 2008, at the organization's 91st edition. At the time, the Brazilian suffered a knockout loss to Jeremy Stephens. Rafael then faced Tyson Griffin and lost by unanimous decision in a close fight that earned him the 'Fight of the Night' bonus.

The Brazilian's first victory came in his third fight, when he beat American Rob Emerson by unanimous decision at UFC 103.

Lightweight Champion

The height of Rafael dos Anjos began in 2012, when he went on a five-fight winning streak. This streak was only interrupted by Khabib Nurmagomedov, who won by decision of the judges.

After the loss to the Russian, dos Anjos returned to stringing together victories, and after knocking out Jason High and Benson Henderson, in addition to running over Nate diaz the carioca had the opportunity to fight for the belt against Anthony Pettis, where Rafael became UFC champion by dominating 'Showtime' for five rounds.
