Despite being one of the most feared athletes in the history of MMA and having a high frequency in his appearances in the octagon, Alex Poatán is not without its detractors, and one of them has the chance to secure a belt dispute in the light heavyweight category (up to 93 kg) this Saturday (26), at UFC 308. With only one defeat in the organization, Magomed Ankalayev faces Aleksandar rakic on the main card. However, the Brazilian does not seem to have faith in his rival's triumph.

In a story on his Instagram this Thursday (24), the current UFC light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg.) shared the video of the face-off between Ankalaev and Rakic after the event's press conference and expressed his opinion on the confrontation.
“I wanted Ankalaev to win so he could wait a little longer, but I can’t see him beating Rakic,” wrote the Brazilian.

With ten wins in the organization, the Russian holds the first position in the category ranking. If he has another successful fight, the next step would be a meeting with Poatan, who in turn has already stated his intention to make the path difficult of the enemy.
Alex Poatan and Magomed Ankalaev
Since debuting in the UFC in 2021, Alex Poatán has quickly become one of the most popular fighters in the sport. A former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg), the São Paulo native moved up in weight in 2023 and won the belt in the higher category in November of last year, making three successful defenses since then.
However, throughout this time, the Russian's statements ended up creating a rivalry between the two athletes. More recently, Anakalaev even stated that the Ultimate would be protecting the Brazilian of a confrontation with him. The Dagestani fought for the category title in December 2022 against Jan Blachowicz, resulting in a tie.
