On his 40th birthday, Rafael dos Anjos suffers an injury early in the fight and loses to Geoff Neal at UFC 308

A date that had everything to be special, became tragic for Rafael dos Anjos. On the day he turns 40 years old, the Brazilian suffered a knee injury at the beginning of the fight against Geoff neal and ended up defeated by the American in the preliminary card of UFC 308, on Saturday afternoon (26). Dos Anjos suffered the injury after falling to the ground after being hit by a left blow from his rival, who quickly realized what had happened and didn't even go after the Brazilian, waiting for the referee to stop.

The unfortunate setback against Neal marked his third consecutive defeat. Rafael dos Anjos in the Ultimate octagon. The Brazilian's last victory took place in December 2022.

Injury prevents Rafael dos Anjos from continuing fight with Geoff Neal

Geoff neal Neal began the fight controlling the center of the octagon and trying to corner Rafael dos Anjos. The two exchanged simultaneous low kicks. In the first minute of the fight, the American landed a straight left that knocked Dos Anjos down. Neal allowed the Brazilian to get up, but soon after, he landed another left punch and knocked the Brazilian down, who immediately suffered an injury to his left leg and forced the referee to stop the fight and declare the technical knockout in favor of the American.
