In the co-main fight of UFC 308, held last Saturday (26) in Abu Dhabi, Khamzat Shimaev starred in a real crush on Robert Whittaker. The 'Wolf' managed to get a takedown in the first seconds of the fight and finished with a rear naked choke that dislocated his opponent's jaw. After the fight, the Chechen said he is ready to enter the title fight and compared himself to the current middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg).
At the post-fight press conference UFC 308, the Chechen stressed that he doesn't care about the name of his opponent, only about the fight for the title, and compared his grappling skills to those of the champion Dricus Du Plessis.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s Sean or Dricus, I’m just after the gold. Let’s see what happens next. I’m ready… The way I fought Rob and the way Du Plessis did? Rob took him down, so if Rob took him down, it’s ‘salam alaikum’ against me,” Chimaev said.
