In the main fight UFC 308, held in Abu Dhabi, Ilia Topuria defended the featherweight title (up to 65,7 kg) and became the first fighter to knock out Max Holloway. After beating the Hawaiian, who holds the UFC 'BMF' title, 'El Matador' declared himself 'the Toughest' in the Ultimate.

Although the BMF belt was not officially up for grabs, Topuria did not care about it and, in the press conference after the UFC 308, the Georgian declared himself as the holder of two belts.

“I never understood why they didn’t put the ‘Toughest’ title on the line. It has to be up for grabs from day one. But if they don’t want to make it official, I’ll make it official on my own. I’m now the new ‘BMF’ world champion,” said the Georgian based in Spain.

Ilia Topuria is undefeated in his career, with 16 wins, eight by submission and six by knockout. The fighter is the current UFC featherweight champion and, against Max Holloway, won his first title defense.
