Away from the octagon for more than three years, Conor McGregor continues to pay close attention to what happens in the Ultimate. More than that, the Irishman continues to risk part of his rich fortune in bets on the organization's main fights. UFC 308, held last Saturday (26), however, was a great loss for the 'Notório'.
During the event, Conor McGregor used social media to share a bold $500 (approximately R$2,85 million) matched bet on the winnings of Robert whittaker e Max Holloway, underdogs in the main fights of the UFC 308. More than that, the Irishman needed the Australian to knock him out. Khamzat Shimaev in the first half of the fight and that the Hawaiian knocked him out Ilia Topuria in the final half of the title fight. If that happened, the 'Notorious' would earn an incredible US$ 17 million (approximately R$ 97 million).

In the co-main event, Khamzat Shimaev 'ran over' Robert whittaker and finished in the first round, while in the main event Topuria became the first athlete to knock out Holloway and defended his featherweight belt (up to 65,7 kg). The Irishman, who had already lost a lot of money at the PFL event last week, took to social media to vent about the loss.
“A million in a week! Damn! The rich get richer, yes my aunt, trust me,” wrote the Irishman in posts on the social network 'X'.
This is not the first time that Conor McGregor directly violates the rules related to betting for UFC athletes. Since the second half of 2022, after a controversial episode with former coach James Krause, the organization has prohibited its fighters from betting on any fight in the organization.
