Mauricio Ruffy will have a new challenge in his UFC career. The Brazilian, who was coming off a devastating debut in the octagon, is now preparing to face James Llontop unanticipated UFC 309, scheduled for November 16, at Madison Square Garden, in New York. Ruffy, 28, arrived at the UFC with promising status after a devastating stint on the Contender Series. On that occasion, the Alagoas native knocked out Raimond Magomedaliev and secured his contract with the largest MMA organization in the world. In his debut in the octagon, he did not disappoint and submitted Jamie Mullarkey impressively, in the UFC 301, in Rio de Janeiro.

Llontop, who has a record of 14 wins and four losses in MMA, also went through the Contender Series, but is still looking for his first victory in the UFC. The Peruvian was defeated Chris Padilla e Viacheslav Borshchev in his two official presentations at the company.

Scheduled for November 16th, at Madison Square Garden, in New York, United States, the UFC 309 has as its main fight the long-awaited dispute for the heavyweight belt (up to 120,2 kg) between Jon Jones e Stipe Miocic.
