The Iraqi amir albazi, one of the main names in the UFC flyweight category (up to 56,7 kg), experienced a real drama behind the scenes before his fight against Brandon Moreno, at UFC Edmonton this Saturday (2). In a press conference, the fighter revealed a series of health problems that kept him away from the octagon for 16 months and almost made him abandon the sport.
After his victory over Kai Kara France, Albazi began to experience strong palpitations. Tests revealed supraventricular tachycardia, a condition that forced him to undergo heart surgery. He had barely recovered from the procedure when a new adversity arose: an injury to his left arm that compromised his movements and raised the possibility of a permanent halt to his career.
