Two-time Olympic medalist in amateur boxing and current world champion in the lightweight division (up to 61 kg) of the International Boxing Federation in the professional category, Bia Ferreira already has a confirmed date and opponent for her first title defense. The fighter from Bahia will enter the ring on December 14 to face Frenchwoman Licia Boudersa in an event held in Monte Carlo, in the Principality of Monaco.

At 31 years old, Bia Ferreira is a two-time world champion in amateur boxing and gained even more notoriety by winning the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021. The following year, the Bahian made her professional boxing debut and, in April of this year, won the vacant IBF lightweight belt with a knockout over Yanina del Carmen Lescano.

After the victory, Bia returned to amateur boxing to compete in the Paris Games, where she won the bronze medal. Back in the professional boxing world, the Salvador native will defend her world title on December 14th.

Challenger to Bia Ferreira's belt, Licia Bourdesa is 32 years old and has a professional record of 23 wins, two losses and two draws. The Frenchwoman qualified for the fight with a victory over Marina Sakharov in October.
