Willing to win a new chance at the lightweight title (up to 70,3 kg), Michael chandler trust your hard work to overcome Charles of the Bronx No. UFC 309, scheduled for November 16. In an interview with Kevin Iole, the American highlighted that his work ethic and discipline are superior to those of any other athlete.
After two years away from the octagon, Chandler believes that this dedication will be the difference in him becoming champion in 2025.
“I work harder than anyone else. I’m more disciplined in my diet, in the gym, in my training and in my recovery than anyone in the entire sport. I’m going to stand on that hill and plant the flag, I believe in that. I haven’t always competed like this. But on November 16th, I’m going to be like that. I deserve to win and I’m going to get my hand raised. I’m going to be the number one contender, I’m going to fight Islam or Arman, whoever the champion is, and I’m going to win the title in 2025, making me the oldest UFC lightweight champion.” He said, Michael chandler.
Chandler believes McGregor will return
Despite having spent two years of his career waiting for a fight against Conor McGregor, Chandler does not regret the hiatus period. He believes in the return of the Irishman and shows the desire to face the 'Notorious' in his return to MMA.

“It was a season of my life. It was a decision I made, I have no ill will towards him or the UFC. I believe he will come back and if he does we have to end this rivalry,” concluded the American.
Michael chandler faced Charles of the Bronx for the first time in UFC 262, when the Brazilian won the lightweight title (up to 70,3 kg). Since then, the American has accumulated one fight victory and two losses.
Chandler's last appearance in the octagon was in November 2022, in a fight against Dustin poirier. From that moment on, the American developed a rivalry with Conor McGregor, and the two even had a fight scheduled for June of this year. However, the Irishman had to withdraw due to a toe injury.
