The new octagon outfit Charles of the Bronx protocols for UFC 309, revealed this Monday (11), divided the opinion of MMA fans on social media. The design of the shorts, produced by the official UFC supplier, Venum, was the target of criticism due to its vibrant colors and prints considered 'abstract'. The debut of the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) with the fabric takes place in front of Michael chandler.
The predominantly colorful piece features a print that, according to many internet users, resembles an aerial view of a community. The waistband, in black, features the UFC logo in bold relief and the inscription 'Do Bronxs' on one side, a reference to the neighborhood in Guarujá where the fighter was born and raised.

As soon as the photos of the material hit the networks, internet users made comments criticizing the design. One fan wrote in English “Why the shorts from Charles Oliveira looks like a pajama?” Another posted: “the drawing of the favela is very abstract”. One profile went further: “These are garbage”, or “This is garbage”, in free translation.
A Brazilian who presents himself as an advertiser in his X (former Twitter) bio posted a critique with a good alternative suggestion: “Sorry, it’s impossible for me not to criticize this. It’s an absurd negligence on the part of VENUM/UFC. Why don’t they hire a Brazilian illustrator from the favelas to do it? This is really bad.”

Charles do Bronxs returns to the octagon after seven months to repeat the fight of UFC 262, in May 2021, when the Brazilian lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) won by knockout, at the Toyota Center, in Houston.
Now, 'Charles Oliveira x Michael chandler 2' will be at Madison Square Garden in New York City, on a special night for the organization.
O UFC 309 The main event features a clash between the two biggest heavyweights (up to 120,2 kg) in the company's history: Jon Jones e Stipe Miocic.
