Austin DeAnda had to resort to an unconventional method to secure victory in his last boxing fight. With his vision impaired by loose strands of hair, the fighter asked a member of his team to cut part of his hair during the break between rounds. The corner of the ring, which almost became a makeshift 'beauty salon', went viral on social media.
The fight, which took place last Friday (8), in Norfolk, United States, was a middleweight dispute. DeAnda, undefeated until then, saw his plans to maintain his undefeated record of 16 victories threatened by a hair problem.

With his loose hair obstructing his vision, the athlete didn't think twice and asked one of his coaches to resolve the situation with scissors. The request, however, caused a moment of hesitation in the corner of the ring.
One of the team members, responsible for taking care of the fighter's cuts and bruises, questioned: "I'm a cutman, not a barber!" But, at DeAnda's insistence, the scissors came into action and a large chunk of hair was removed.
The drastic measure had an effect. With his vision clear, DeAnda was able to recover and win the fight by unanimous decision.
