Jon Jones added fuel to the category's fire with a provocation directed at Tom aspinall. In an interview with ESPN, on the eve of the UFC 309 next Saturday (16), the current linear heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg) stated that the British 'has his head on straight' when wanting to face the best fighters in the world, including himself.
But the champion went further and used the famous expression popularized by Conor McGregor, 'Red Panty Night', to describe the Englishman's desire to have a big victory. Before, however, Jon faces Stipe Miocic at Madison Square Garden, in New York, United States.

“Everyone wants to fight me. What the Conor McGregor calls it 'Red Panty Night'? Tom's got his head in the right place, he should want to fight the best in the world," Jones said.
'Red Panty Night' (Red Panties Night, in free translation) is an informal term used in the fighting world to describe a highly anticipated fight, capable of generating great interest from the public and, consequently, large profits.
The catchphrase was said by himself Conor McGregor, when he was still interim UFC featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg). At the time, he was scheduled to face José Aldo, but also launched an attack to Rafael dos Anjos, stating that it was a 'consecration' to face him because he was capable of making a fighter rich.
At 37, Jon Jones has given indications that the fight against Miocic could be the last of his career. Given this scenario, the only alternative for Aspinall to measure forces against the American would be in the event of some eventuality in the main fight of the night.
