Don't change a winning team? For the UFC, this is not the case. The organization confirmed that this Saturday's event (16) will feature the old gloves, previous to the current ones that began to be used in June, in UFC 302.

The gloves used until the ufc vegas 100, last Saturday (9), were designed to reduce eye pokes and hand injuries for fighters. They were less rigid and had differences in the seams, padding and finger holes compared to the old ones. There were athletes who didn't like them, like Sean Strickland for example. But the reversal didn't please some fans.
The topic went viral on social media and generated an avalanche of questions. Many MMA enthusiasts speculated that the return of old gloves could benefit Jon Jones when using his wingspan to maintain distance and his fingers end up hitting an opponent's eye, in this case Stipe Miocic.
A Brazilian user of X (old Twitter) wrote “The same gloves that were designed to prevent fighters from sticking their fingers in their opponents’ eyes? Curious, right on the card of Jon Jones”. The 'msio' profile brought up: “They want Jones to knock out Stipe so bad.” Another went further and called Jones a 'Jon 'eye poke' Bones Jones'.
