Definitely plans to face Jon Jones ou Stipe Miocic have not been doing well for Tom aspinall. Even though he holds the interim heavyweight belt (up to 120,2 kg), the organization itself seems to be avoiding involving the athlete in the narratives surrounding the main fight of the UFC 309.

After weighing in and securing his reserve position for the Jones-Miocic fight, Aspinall revealed that he was prevented from attending the pre-event press conference during a brief interview with Daniel Cormier.
“I wasn’t there, I was doing other things. I asked to be at the press conference and they told me no. I was trying to go. I got blacklisted. They banned me,” he said.

The possibility of unification has already been rejected several times by the current linear belt holder. Miocic has never mentioned the fighter or expressed interest in facing him. Despite the numerous denials, the Englishman continues to try to remain relevant to the general public. According to the fighter himself, the demand for the fight between Jones and Miocic has grown regardless of his statements.
“I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s event, to see what kind of reception I get there. That’s going to be fun. I think a lot of people have done a lot of work for me this week, which has been great, I haven’t had to do anything. I’ve been visiting New York City and having fun,” he concluded.
