Protagonists of UFC Macau, next Saturday (23), Deiveson Figueiredo e Petr yan came face to face for the first time early in the afternoon of this Tuesday (19), in the Chinese special administrative region. With an eye on a bantamweight belt dispute (up to 61,2 kg), the former champions of the organization faced each other and exchanged a few words.
It was not clear, however, what was said by the fighters or even if the Russian and the Brazilian understood each other during the process. At the end of the face-off, however, Yan said something in the Brazilian's ear, who reacted with a laugh and greeted his opponent.

Former flyweight champion (up to 56,7 kg), Deiveson Figueiredo has been undefeated since moving up to bantamweight in 2023. Since then, the Brazilian has lined up Rob font, cody garbrandt and most recently Marlon Vera, reaching fifth place in the ranking.
On the other side, Petr yan was the bantamweight champion between 2020 and 2021, when he was dethroned in his first defense against aljamain sterling. Since then, the Russian has suffered three consecutive defeats between 2022 and 2023, but has recovered with a victory over song yadong in March of this year and occupies third place in the ranking.
