Dana White may not have liked seeing the name of Jon Jones second in the UFC's official pound-for-pound rankings, but what the heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) thinks is another story. Through social media, 'Bones' reacted to his ranking rise after brutally defeating Stipe Miocic na main fight do UFC 309, last Saturday (16), in New York. The victory made the American surpass the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.) Alex Poatán, who is now third. The current lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg.), Islam makhachev, still appears at the top.

On his official 'X' account (formerly Twitter), Jones appeared quite satisfied with his number 2 position, given his age.
“To be ranked number 2 pound for pound at 37 years old, I’m happy with that,” wrote the champion. (see below)

Change is coming
While Jon Jones apparently have no issues with their position in the UFC's pound-for-pound rankings, the latest update has caused another 'outburst of fury' from Dana White, who has threatened to scrap the rankings panel and replace it with AI rankings with the help of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
“I need to get rid of these CLOWNS!! Mark Zuckerberg, let's get this Artificial Intelligence working as soon as possible!!!!”, the UFC president vented.
Dana White hoped that the victory over Miocic would be enough to Jon Jones to once again occupy the top spot in the pound-for-pound rankings. For 2025, the president of Ultimate guaranteed changes in the way the rankings are created.
